 Sebastian Mego & Maridel Terciano
First up in the Junior Singer category was Sebastian Mego, who performed "A Song for You." An impressed Naomi Judd gave him 5 stars, predicting, "You have your destiny in front of you." Noting that Sebastian has a "great voice, but styled it way, way, way too much, took it over to the top in the styling," Ben Stein gave him 3 stars. Carol Leifer was impressed enough to give young Sebastian 4 stars, quipping, "You are phenomenal! You sing that song with experience, like you've been in bars all these years." Lance Bass also gave Sebastian 4 stars, telling him, "You've got the soul going. I can imagine what you're going to be like in three to four years."
After Maridel Terciano, the second Junior Singer, performed "I Believe," Naomi Judd gave her 5 stars and said, "I believe that music & art are gifts, and I'm writing a thank you card for sharing your gift." Calling Maridel "dynamite, fantastic," Ben Stein also gave her 5 stars. Maridel got 4 stars from Carol Leifer, who told her, "You're teeny & you're talented." "You are definitely amazing," said Lance Bass, as he gave Maridel 4 stars.
The home audience agreed with the judges in this category tonight, scoring Sebastian 14 stars and Maridel 18. After home audience scoring was tallied, Maridel Terciano won with 36 stars and will return tomorrow night for the Semifinals. |
