CJ Johnson & Lisa Tucker
CJ Johnson, tonight's first Junior Singer, performed the hit "Dancin' Machine." An impressed Naomi Judd told CJ, "You go it goin' on. You are the coolest," and gave him 5 stars. "Great stage presence, fabulous song, incredible dancing; the voice could have been a little stronger," opined Ben Stein, giving CJ 4 stars. Carol Leifer gave CJ 5 stars, explaining, "I not only like when someone can bring in da funk, but bring in da noise, too." Aaron Carter gave CJ 4 stars, predicting, "You're a very good dancer, and in about four years you'll have some competition with Justin Timberlake."
The second Junior Singer, Lisa Tucker, performed "One Moment in Time." "She is so classy. You have a rich voice; the pitch was perfect," said Naomi Judd, giving Lisa 5 stars. "Great, incredibly strong, emotional voice. I could feel it all over, except occasionally there were some flat moments," Ben Stein told Lisa, giving her 4 points. An impressed Carol Leifer gave Lisa 5 stars, adding, "What a knockout! You are so fantastic." The brothers Carter rounded out the scoring with Nick's remark: "We gave you 4 stars because you can sing."
The judges were tied, unable to decide between CJ and Lisa. The home audience broke that tie, awarding Lisa Tucker 35 stars and an invitation to next Thursday's Semi-Finals. |
