Jon Cruz Wins Young Dancer Final
Nineteen-year-old Jon Cruz from Riverside, California won tonight's Young Dancer Final and the $100,000 Grand Prize. Jon was tonight's first Dancer, and his gravity-defying street style prompted Ahmet Zappa to exclaim, "You're a genius!" Next up was 20-year-old Stephen Boss, from Montgomery, Alabama, who also performed a funky, street-style routine. When Stephen had finished, Naomi Judd told him, "I want to go dancing with you later and celebrate. I though it was fabulous!" With their similar styles, the Dancers were well matched in this Final round, but when the judges were finished scoring, Jon was ahead with 19 stars.
The home audience upheld the judges' decision, and with 36 stars, Jon Cruz won tonight's Young Dancer Final and dances off $100,000 richer.
