Vickie Natale is Ultimate Adult Singer Champion
Brooklyn, New York teacher Vickie Natale will return to her students next week doubly victorious. Fresh from her victory in Tournament 3 last Wednesday, Vickie won tonight's Adult Singer STAR SEARCH BATTLE OF THE CHAMPIONS and the $100,000 Grand Prize. Tournament 1 Champion Jake Simpson, from Crocker, Missouri, performed first in the category, singing "Higher Ground." Next up was Bristol, Connecticut's Chantele Doucette, Champion of Tournament 2, who sang "Son of a Preacher Man." Vickie performed last, and after her haunting rendition of "I Refuse to Be Lonely," Ben Stein told her, "You're teaching the whole world what heart is, what talent is, what glory is in a singer!" The competition was fierce, and the three judges (there was no guest judge tonight) had trouble making the choice between the three Adult Singer Champions. As a result, Chantele and Vickie were tied, with a perfect 15 stars each, and Jake was hot on their heels with only one star less. The home audience would have to choose the Ultimate Champion.
The home audience did just that. With 27 stars, Vickie Natale, already winner of Tournament 3's Grand Prize of $100,00 plus a recording contract with Sony music, was declared Ultimate Adult Singer Champion in the STAR SEARCH BATTLE OF THE CHAMPIONS and takes home an extra $100,000. |
