All That vs. Rah Shan and Rah Shad
Identical twins from Pomona, California, Rah Shan and Rah Shad, won tonight's Young Dancer preliminary round. First to compete was All That (tappin' trio Delohn Collins, Michael Curtis and Brian Staggs), who range in age from 23-28 and hail from Ohio and Kentucky. After All That's energetic clogging routine, Rah Shan and Rah Shad took the stage and wowed the judges with their mirror-image jazz dance. Judge Naomi Judd said of the dancing duo: "Double my pleasure, double my fun, I loved it!" Beating All That's score of 11 with a score of 14 stars, Rah Shan and Rah Shad moved on to the next part of the competition.
Still breathless from competing, Rah Shan and Rah Shad had to decide whom they felt confident they could beat from the Winners' Circle. The twins chose Legend and Tempo, and after their funky poppin' routine, the judges decided the Winners' Circle needed fresh talent, choosing Rah Shan and Rah Shad to take their place in the circle on Saturday, January 24 at 8pm ET/PT
