Spensha Baker & Bianca Ryan
Ten-year-old gospel singer Spensha Baker from Killeen, Texas won the first round of the Junior Singer competition. Spensha took the stage first, singing Céline Dion's "Love Can Move Mountains," a performance that judge MC Lyte said was "just the beginning." Nine-year-old Bianca Ryan was up next, and sang "The Impossible Dream" from the musical "Man of La Mancha." The judges chose Spensha to move on, awarding her 13 stars and Bianca 12 stars.
With that victory under her belt, Spensha had to face off against one of the STAR SEARCH veterans from the Winners' Circle. She challenged 13-year-old Molly Bouchard, who stepped up to defend her place in the Winners' Circle by belting out a LeAnn Rimes song, "We Can." The judges favored newcomer Spensha, who will take her place in the Winners' Circle on Saturday, January 24 at 8pm ET/PT.
