Winners' Circle Showdown: Freedom Bremner vs. Jake Simpson vs. Vickie Natale
Freedom Bremner won tonight's Adult Singer Winners' Circle Showdown, winning a guaranteed spot in the Finals. Prior to Saturday's competition, all three singers reacted to the twist, and the fact that they would be competing against each other. While Jake was reluctant about winning a short cut to the Finals, saying, "I want to be challenged, I want to sing," Freedom had a different reaction, and said, "I'll take the free pass!"
Freedom Bremner sang first, and brought his own personal style to the Police's "King of Pain." After his performance, MC Lyte said Freedom was a "true professional," and Matti Leshem shouted: "I wish I could give you a six!" Jake Simpson was next up, singing "Lately," by Stevie Wonder. Former music teacher Vickie Natale was the final performer, and she belted out a soulful rendition of Billy Vera's "At This Moment." When the judges' scores were tallied, Freedom had a perfect score with 15 stars, Jake had 13 stars, and Vickie had 14 stars.
But the competition wasn't over until the home audience had their say, and when the internet voting was over, Freedom was declared the victor of the Winners' Circle Showdown with 25 stars, and he will move ahead to the Finals. STAR SEARCH will return on Saturday, February 21 at 8pm ET/PT, and Jake Simpson and Vickie Natale will return to take on new challengers.
