Billy Larson & Ashley Canterna
Twenty-two-year-old Billy Larson from Philadelphia was Saturday night's winner in the Young Dancer preliminary round. Billy was first to perform, and his tap routine prompted MC Lyte to say, "I loved the power moves. It was right on time." Judge Naomi Judd added that she loved his "happy feet." Ashley Canterna, an 18-year-old from Linthicum, MD performed next, showing off her ballet training with some Latin flair. With 12 stars, Billy won the preliminary round, but the competition was just heating up.
Billy called out Candace and Brandon from the Winners' Circle, who performed a routine that wowed the judges and secured their position in the Winners' Circle with a score of 14 stars. Candace and Brandon will return to the STAR SEARCH Winners' Circle on Saturday, February 28 at 8pm ET/PT.
Winners' Circle
Jon Cruz won a spot in the finals and a much-needed trip home, where a surprise party was held in his honor at a dance club. Reunited with friends and family, Jon looked forward to the Finals, saying "I've got four weeks to train for the final show."
Meanwhile, Jon Bond and Candace & Brandon are feeling symptoms of homesickness. Candace shed a few tears and said "I miss all my family." She added "It's an amazing thing we're doing here, it's just so hard." Jon Bond agreed, saying "I feel like I've been here forever." Although their hearts may long for home, the Young Dancers are keeping their eyes on the prize, and Candace and Brandon said they're "going to stay in the Winners' Circle." Jon Bond is as determined as ever and warns his competition that "ain't nobody kicking me off!"
