Robbie Nicholson & Moy Rivas
Eighteen-year-old Robbie Nicholson from Fredericksburg, Virginia won tonight's Young Dancer preliminary round. Robbie performed first, defying gravity and showing off his classical training. MC Lyte declared, "The passion was there from the very beginning!" Up next was B-Boy Moy Rivas, a 20-year-old from Houston, Texas. Robbie Nicholson won the preliminary competition with 12 Stars, but would he be able to dance his way into the Winners' Circle?
Robbie called out Jon Bond for a dance-off, and the Judges gave Jon 14 Stars, which means he will return for the Finals on Saturday, March 13 at 8pm ET/PT.
Winners' Circle
Each member of the Young Dancer Winners' Circle got a once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform for Julie McDonald from the dance agency MSA. Jon Cruz danced first, and after his performance Julie said: "I've seen a lot of B-Boys, you were totally unique. For today's market, what you do is right on the money." Recent inductees into the Winners' Circle Stacy and Joseph were next, and Julie praised their chemistry, but added: "You have to be able to pursue individual careers." As for Jon Bond, Julie said his performance was "so beautiful," but she advised him to gain some ballet training.
Jon Cruz already won the right to cruise straight to the Finals, but Stacy & Joseph and Jon Bond have one more week to be challenged, and to prove they've got what it takes to make it to the Finals.
