| 9/21/05 7:40 pm i ain't heard from angie personally, but i heard from wanda that she's in nashville with friends. i'm driving truck cuz i'm a broke-ass!
 | James
| 9/21/05 7:37 pm bobby jon knows better. he should've drank plenty of water and ate some fruit. i can't believe his sorry ass got sick. and i'll tell you what, he never should've said "it's not every day a survivor gets a second chance to win a million dollars". duh! his tail is gone. c'mon. by the way, everybody comes up to me and asks me when america voted bobby jon and steph to be on the show. they say i had most of the air time while i was on. go figure!

| 9/21/05 6:47 pm Roses are red
Voilets are blue
I found Fairplay's blog boring.

| 9/21/05 6:25 pm I watched Survivor the other night and it was great. That Ethan guy and Lex seem to be bonding. Big Tom is funny. He cracks me up. But my money is on the sexy Ethan.

| 9/21/05 1:57 pm All right, all right. I reluctantly divulged some personal information to our contact at CBS.com, and my bio is now posted. Will this prove once and for all that I am not Kevin?
I really like the idea of Palau's Kevin, though. The scapegoat, or pharmakon, performs an important function in any society, at once poison and cure. Isn't Kevin always present on the Survivor locations? Did Kevin eat that power bar, lo, these many seasons ago?
 | Coby
| 9/21/05 10:02 am Okay, I might not know who Ralph is (Tom) but I do know who Kevin is...
When Palau started with 20 people and we were all on one beach together, you can imagine trying to learn every ones name. So the rumor started to vote out Kevin...as you know there was no Kevin ;)
As the game went on...Kevin stole fishing poles, passed gas, slept with Katie (they are no longer dating). He even took the form of our Immunity Idol for a while, sneaky devil!
A answer for Katie... DO you really want to ask if we can vote people out of the blog? Jenna M and I have already formed a alliance... *dang I always tell people too much*
A gross comment to Rob... I need to go to the bathroom, does that help? lol
 | Rob
| 9/21/05 12:48 am Hey, I bet I can make Kathy show up...
"Hey, I just stepped on a sea urchin!! It really hurts! Can anybody help!?!"
 | Katie
| 9/20/05 9:42 pm Ralph, I might tell you who Kevin is if you give us a clue to who you are...
A couple of questions: Do we get to vote people out of the blog? Does anyone else think Steph and Blake look like twins?
 | Jenna
| 9/20/05 9:09 pm Wonder where Fairplay is and congrats to James for beating him to the post!!!
And who is Kevin, is this some kind of Palau inside joke?
I wonder if Kathy isnt posting here because she is going to be on the next Survivor.... why not?
 | Ralph
| 9/20/05 7:47 pm Who is Kevin?
 | Coby
| 9/20/05 7:20 pm Katie- I am so glad you finally brought up the 'K' word...where oh' where is Kevin? Are we suppose to be guessing who this 'mystery' poster is named Ralph? Whoever it is they think themselves pretty darn smart...my guess is Tom or Richard!
Rob C- I guess my man James won the race over your boy Fairplay! Sad when a redneck without a computer can out blog a 'Star' like Fairplay lol
James- Glad you could finally join us, Katrina whooped and all but that leaves us with a big fat "Where the heck are Kathy and Fairplay?" I assume Fairplay is still partying from Kill Reality...but Kathy should know better! We only have 2 more days until the next episode Kathy get your hiney in here!
Scout- Angie is fine but she is still unsure about her house etc. (and sorry about your hand)
I guess I should blog about the show now and then but I can't help but talk to everyone...the only thing i keep thinking when I see the pics...
gut feelings
Margaret-Gone Brian/Rafe- in for the long haul

| 9/20/05 11:29 am Hey, James. I broke my durn hand playing carpenter with a power drill. Duh! Need any help down there getting things back together after Katrina? Heard from Angie yet?
 | James
| 9/19/05 9:48 pm you, know what? i am sickened that bobby jon and steph are on this season. alright, i got that out of the way. why did everybody get sick? i gotta go. i can't write much right now. i broke my arm playing football with a seven year old. yea, come on! i'll write more in a little bit. hurricane katrina kicked our aces. later ya'll.
 | Rob
| 9/19/05 5:05 pm The 11 mile race was definitely the ultimate test to start the show. Team Bobby Jon won the battle, but they may end up losing the war because of their overexertion. You would think that BJ would have learned to save his strength for when it counts last time around. The Survivor game itself is too much of a marathon to run out of gas on Day 2.
I really can't wait for Survivor 12 when Vinny Testaverde gets to play and they bring back Ryno and Zoe.
Scout: There hasn't been a previous vote tie breaker since Survivor Africa. However, if the tiebreakers on "Survivors Strike back" are decided by post length, you've got it made!
Ralph: I totally agree with what you said to me on the phone about Katie the other day.
Ethan: I heard that the Big twist that everyone is playing for what's LEFT of Rupert's million.
P.S. Who do you think will win the race to be first to figure out how the posting system works: Fairplay or James?

| 9/19/05 11:36 am First impressions are everything, therefore I think it's appropriate to discuss some of my first impressions regarding this new show called Survivor Guatemala. According to Mr. Burnett, I think every Survivor has been labeled, "the hardest Survivor yet (insert accent here)", but Guatemala may actually fit the bill. Eleven miles suck, dehydration sucks even more. Big twist number one, Steph and Bobby. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. They were great at enduring the game, but that's about it. And I can't decide whats 's worse, getting voted off Survivor All-Stars early on (i.e Tina, Rob C, Richard and me), or getting voted off a warped rendition of Survivor All-Star II early on. I may eat my words on that first impression. I have a prediction, the big twist number 2 is that everyone is actually playing for Rupert's million dollars. Oh wait, the two big twists are Steph and Bobby...I forgot.

| 9/19/05 1:25 am Yes, Ian your picture is just as fattering, oops, I mean fLattering as mine! Although your hair looks much better...have you grown into your neck yet? Love you!
Ralph is obviously "Kevin"... :)

Other than the Team America World Police Throw-up party, I thought it was a great first episode . One thing that really hit me right away was that there were a lot more potential animals to roast over a fire than we had in palau, which I really hope they take advantage of, cause once they start getting the "dizzys" from not enough food (you guys know what I'm talking about), its really going to hit the fan. So pass the scary monkey and finish the boa contrictor, because there sure aren't any clams.
I'll give my corvette to the first one who kills a crocodile with a machete...
WOW, I look GOOD in my cast picture.
I mean, really good.
EVERYONE, COME SEE HOW GOOD I LOOK
here, only on "SURVIVORS STRIKE BACK" .
Haha, this is really going to be fun.
I'm not afraid to fight you Rob C.

| 9/18/05 6:29 pm About the double twist with Stephanie and Bobby Jon. Gotta' admit that most of us would love "a 2nd chance to win a million bucks, so maybe some envy does sneek into our responses. And.....Survivor is a game about "relationships". This is the first time that two known players have been introduced into tribes of total strangers. The first response was a presupposition that Stephanie and Bobby Jon were the leaders. The dynamics of having them return is totally new to this amazing game. I think I'll be so fun to see how this plays out.

| 9/18/05 9:40 am Hey, Castmates. I've got a question. Since Jeff didn't read the vote cast against Margarat (by Jungle Jim), the other castmates and Margaret don't know who got the vote. Will that vote be counted against Margaret in the case of a future tie...and they use the rule of "past votes cast?" Anybody know?
 | Coby
| 9/17/05 6:37 pm I forgot a few things (dang my brain and that baby)!!! I need to talk about some first impressions of the new crew... Scout- I think Jim voted for Nurse Margaret because of the same reasons you and Katie think she will do so great in the game for. She is stepping up into a leader position and seems to know a lot about everything while telling you about it. I don't think Nakum is going to be the kind of tribe to think that is as cute as Yaxha does with Steph filling that same role. I predict Margaret to be gone...soon! Random thoughts about some of the other Survivors... Judd- He is a no holds bar kind of guy...which won't work as we saw at Tribal Council with Jeff. Jeff is part of the game and I was horrible at playing his game in Palau...I think Judd may say too much too soon. Rafe- This non-offense ball of 'Tree Loving Red Headed Sweetheart' will attach himself to the star power that is Steph and ride it as long as he can. I don't know why but I see him and Steph making a alliance and his calm demeanor will not rub anyone wrong, he will be Steph's perfect pawn (next to only Lydia who already announced Steph was the reason she applied). Brian- I find him to be Rafe's only hope to be a strong player. Brian is there to play the game..if he can talk Rafe into turning on his queen later in the game...Rafe could go from pawn to player. Cindy- She sure did get a lot of face time is all I can tell you. So whether she is gone next week or makes it to the end...we were suppose to pay attention to her. and lastly... Katie- *cue violins* please stop your magic tears of pain...after your last blog entry, your spell is working....I now find you witty, funny and as sassy as you always promised....

| 9/16/05 8:51 pm Hello! Wow, what a premiere...Guatemala sucks! What horrendous conditions. Survivor is going back to it's roots... things haven't been this bad since Africa. Even Mr. "I have a second chance at a Million-Dollars-Man/Beast Bobby Jon" looked like he was goin' down. With all due respect, I love Bobby Jon and Steph, but when I saw them I shouted out, "NOOOO"!!!!! I have said I would never do Survivor again, but when I saw that I was like, "NO FAIR!!! I WANNA GO"! Then they said "11 mile hike" and I quickly shut my mouth (Something I should have done more of in Palau).
There are a few people I'd like to focus on in this first episode:
Margaret: Mother-figure, leader, has a keen awareness of the game and can relate to people. I think her statement about how important it is to "preserve energy" foreshadows her own self preservation. I think she'll be around for a while. If the Survivors feel comforted by her presence they will keep her around. Hence, Tom winning Survivor: Palau. He gave everyone a sense of security. When we are stripped of all things that make us feel safe, we find security in other people. As long as she doesn't become abrasive, she'll be around for a while.
Steph: Do I need to comment? I guess I do since everyone can't seem to get enough of my Jersey pal. Strap yourselves in for another season of "The Stephenie Show". Even the Yaxha tribe is star-struck!
Rafe: Love that Yaxha spirit! He seems to have quite a grasp on the game of Survivor. His comment about Gary I believe will be prophetic and Gary won't be around for the merge. But doesn't he realize Steph is leading this tribe?
Other people I'm keeping my eye on: Brooke and "Old Milwaukee" aka Brandon. She's smart and he's the one and only man who didn't feel the need to play the Macho game. Good move, in my opinion, he didn't turn into a Puking Cryptkeeper like the rest of 'em! Hopefully, his humor won't be seen as "mean spirited"...
I'm so happy to be here, this will be fun!
Oh, by the way... (cue: creepy, phantom-like voice) Watch out Rob, you too will fall under my spell and my tears will cause you to make decisions in my best interest!! Wah-ha-ha-ha! :)

| 9/16/05 6:39 pm Anybody figure out what prompted Jungle Jim to cast a vote against Nurse Margaret? Also, anyone know this: Do men get dehydrated more easily than women? Coby, I am personally not a "Stephanie is the greatest in the world" fan. She's a tuff physical competitor. However, she thrice renigned on her alliance with her Ulong castmates in Palau. Basically, she screwed Angie, James, and Bobby Jon. When the merge (or mergette)happened and Tom offered her friendship, she still didn't make an alliance with him. At the time he could have used her vote. She might have lasted longer. Do I think Stephanie and Bobby Jon deserve to come back. Nope! But this game has nothing to do with who deserves what!
 | Coby
| 9/16/05 5:43 pm First let me say how lucky I feel to be posting here with some of these Ghosts of Survivor Past, what a honor. Secondly, let's get this bloggin started...claws out and all... Scout- I was sooo going to make fun of your for your Bible Sized Helpin' of text there but as I read it, I saw you know what your talking about and that shut me up quick! *except for the Bobby Jon isn't a sharp tool comment...don't misunderstand passion and integrity for stupidity* Jenna M.- I totally agree that the surprise of Bobby Jon and Steph is unfair and that they had their chance...but as the beginning of our Season showed...Survivor is a whole new breed. Twists and turns as started by the returned Outcast Tribe in Pearl Islands is the future to keep the show fresh and new...so a lot is unfair in Survivorland these days. Ralph- I love you guy...your season was the best ;) Okay so my opinion of the new season can be stated in one word so far...sad. It was sad to see the 'last of the losers' brought in...it was sad to see the 11 mile hike kill of the excitement of the tribes as the game started...it was sad to watch Buff Blake take it in the arm like a man...it was sad to see my friend Bobby Jon have a near seizure...it was sad to see Jim hurt his arm and loose his chances at a million...I think you get the idea here :) I felt a lot of things when it was over. One of them being...I felt sorry for the new contestants who will be overshadowed by the great girth of SURVIVOR STEPHENIE BEST IN THE WORLD!!! Brooke who? The only drop of happiness was seeing Steph's face as she finally wasn't a looser anymore but the winner she always knew she should be. But don't get me wrong and let me tell you this...Eco Challenge Survivor...sadness and all...sucked me in...I love it! I will be breathless waiting with a hankie every week to see who will be beaten down next. I just hope to god it isn't my Bobby Jon to completely fall apart next.

| 9/16/05 2:45 pm Few cultures hold my intrigue like the Maya Empire. Whatever became of these brilliant, early ancestors remains a mystery. This I do, however, imagine. It was a happy day in the jungle when the high priest or king signaled an end to the building. “That’s high enough! You don’t have to carry those mammoth stones up another step!” In Vanuatu, the ancient culture favored men and perhaps magically set a predisposition to a man winning. The opposite may well be true for the cultural bias of the Maya. Both Priest and Priestess ruled, with a deep respect for femanine lunar cycles. As a past Survivor, ya’ gotta’ envy Stephanie and Bobby Jon’s opportunity to jump right back into the game. Both became underdog favorites from Palau. Both are examples of tuff players and very hard workers. This is a great twist for all the fans who fell in love with these two. I predict that Stephanie will again, last longer than Bobby Jon. Very often, the “tone” set in the beginning of an event, is a predictor of the end result. The women of Yaxha’ definitely openly embraced Stephanie. Stephanie, in turn, dared to step up to leadership a lot earlier in this game. I’m certain that she is sharing her delight in her team’s spirit with everyone. This is endearing. She is also openly sharing her feelings of joy. Again, very endearing. Simply stated, Stephanie is now Survivor’s Little Sweetheart. The same may not be true for Bobby Jon. Just as in Palau, Bobby Jon is starting this game by “dragging his drama”. He again appears to be “brawn over brains”. Pace yourself, Bobby Jon! Pace yourself! He just doesn’t get it. Let’s face it. Bobby Jon is not the brightest crayon in the box, nor the sharpest tool in the shed. However, he is a hellva’ competitor in the challenges. That may keep him around awhile. The obvious leadership in Nakum’ fell to Nurse Margaret. What a great role to play in any game. The Nurturer, the Mama, the caring one. A nurse practitioner is not too rich. She’s nurturing without being obsequious. She stands out in this game as strongly as Tom did in Palau. At this point, both tribes seem equally matched. Yaxha’ has the alias quarterback, Gary, who is perhaps more impressed with his history than we are. Spirited Stephanie is showing her strong will and leadership. Brianna the Beauty is, so far, showing us that beauty is more than skin deep. Sergeant Amy is bound to slim up if she stays in the game. I’m looking forward to seeing what she’s made of. Lively Lydia is spunky and is already proved that sometimes surprises come in small packages. Rah Rah Rafe is a great cheerleader. He’s more athletic than he looks at first glance. Magic Morgan is a live wire. Her experience on stage is obvious. Juicy Georgia Jamie looks like he might be a lot like Gregg from Palau. He’s kinda’ quiet up front, but a force to be watched. Damn, he’s cute! Then there are the tribemates from Nakum. Bobby Jon is on the team, but definitely not the obvious leader. That role has to go to Nurse Margaret, the team Mama. Southern Cindy is a strong, buff player with lots of personality. Ya’ gotta’ love to hear that Florida gal talk! Jungle Jim actually played a good game right up front. I don’t believe that his age got him the “boot”. However, his injury did. He provided good, sound leadership with the compass while he was in the game. I kinda’ expected him to be another bossy BJ from Borneo or Frank from Africa, so he was a pleasant surprise. Last season, a fireman was the last man standing. This season, a fireman is the first man out. Ya’ just never know about this amazing game! Muddy Judd from New York is one of my fav’s. Those big ole’ Teddy Bear New Yorker guys are always entertaining. He probably won’t win, but he oughta’ know how to smooze people up, blow smoke up their butts, and make ‘em believe that he’s “in their service” due to his occupation as a hotel doorman. However, wasn’t he quick to jump to his own defense when grouped with all the puny puckers! He might be a little testy! DJ Danni reminds me of LeAnn from Vanuatu. She’s tall and a little bit clumbsy. Just gotta’ hope she’s as funny as LeAnn. Barfin’ Blake has got to get over being a “pretty boy” and get into this game. Bad break to get so sick so early, but then Chris from Vanuatu was pitiful out of the chute and he won the whole durn thing! The women of Nakum are currently hangin’ tuff and way out-playin’ the men. Farmer Brandon is one of my fav’s. I kinda’ expect this country boy to put in some hard work, just like Bobby Jon. However, he’ll do it without all the drama and a lot more humor. Finally, there’s Brawny Brooke who’s a tuff cookie. I’m hoping to see her shine in this game. She’s got both brains and brawn. For 28 years we’ve been doing challenges in our training business (The Challenge of Excellence) that last for up to three full days. I’ve been wanting to see Survivor challenges that last for hours and hours. Right outta’ the chute, I got my wish. That eleven hour hike took the guys out at the knees. So far I think we can expect to see the challenges be fairly close. It’s lookin’ good for our Survivor Sweetheart, Stephanie. Bobby Jon is good at talkin’ the talk. Now he’s got to start walkin’ the walk or I see him on the choppin’ block sooner than later. I don’t think I would have mentioned the “getting a second chance at a million dollar thing”! Guatemala looks hot and humid to me. We nearly froze to death in Vanuatu. I think these castaways are doomed to a near hell experience in the heat. The ultimate mystery of this first episode, and perhaps one that will divine the destiny of one Nurse Margart, is this: What provoked Jungle Jim to cast his parting vote for Margaret? Did he think that her dominate position as Nurturer was too strong to handle? What was he thinking? Loved the “Survivor Family Moment”. Nice touch! Also love the Fan Competition twist, “Search in the City”. Hope I see one of those past car winners out in California this week.. Again, the production, filming, sets, and editing of Survivor, earns my deepest respect. What a crew! Can’t wait for the “rest of the story”!

| 9/16/05 2:41 pm Well another season of Survivor starts with a bang, Steph and BJ coming back and the 11 mile hike. I completely disagree with bringing players back into the game UNLESS its an all star, they had thier chance and they lost. There should be no second chances on Survivor. I dont understand why all of the survivors were so excited to see Steph and BJ, why are they excited to see players stronger than them? But, I thought it was an ok first episode, it was great that the men were dropping like flies and the woman were staying strong, girl power! Jim being the first boot, we could see that coming. Lets hope on the next episode things start to shake up a bit. :)

| 9/16/05 2:34 pm Wow, I can't believe I'm here for Survivors Strike Back, since I'm used to just striking out.
I think it might be a while before theres another post here. It might take the other Survivors a while before they can figure out how the internet works.
I think last night was certainly the most brutal opening to a season in the history of the show. Perhaps , dare I say, even worse than the greased pole climb to open "Survivor: Vanuatu"!!
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to blogging about the show with you guys this season. I'm just hoping that Katie won't try to talk Ian into quitting before we're done ;)

| 9/16/05 2:31 pm First impressions can be lasting. The Guatemala premiere raises a few questions for me: Should Survivors get a second chance, as did Stephenie and Bobby Jon? Deserving or not, they were voted out once. But this is a clean slate, and both were too late for All-Stars. Is this Tribal Council really the actual Mayan ruins? The Tribal Council set is always one of the coolest things about Survivor, and this is the best yet. I hasten to add that I’ve loved them all and very much admire the designers of TCs past. Even here, dramatic lighting enhances the effect. And what’s going on with the dehydrated men? Women have more stamina and a higher pain threshold, yes, but why the sharp contrast here? Why are the men suffering so much more than the women after the arduous hike?
