SURVIVOR Host: There are tons of great questions, so let's get started!! If you're just joining us, we're chatting live with Diane Ogden. To ask Diane a question, please type it in the space below and click "Ask the Survivor." We'll get to as many of your questions as we can. Let's get started!!!
Hi Diane, thanks for being here to chat with us today.
Diane Ogden: Hi everyone! It's Diane, glad to be here!
Dianerules: Do you feel like a celebrity now, by being interviewed everywhere?
Diane Ogden: Well, everybody tells me that, but I guess...kinda...it's weird for me.
Diane1Fan: Why did you wish to be on SURVIVOR AFRICA?
Diane Ogden: Well, watching all of SURVIVOR: THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK and seeing that they were like on a beach and camping, I thought "No problem!" and boy was I WAY wrong!
FlashWizard: Diane, do you think that your age affected your position in the tribe?
Diane Ogden: Not at all. I'm a pretty tough old broad, and I'm very young at heart and I'm in shape. I'm involved: I backpack, I work out, I'm very much an outdoors type of gal. So, no; my age, I don't believe, had anything to do with it.
dianesgal: How did it feel to be the first Survivor kicked off?
Diane Ogden: Actually, when I was at Tribal Council and the votes were tied between me and Clarence, what was running through my mind as I was sick was, "Oh, no! I'm going to stay!" So when I got the other vote that meant that I was given the first boot, I was really relieved, because it was really hard out there. And besides, I got to go on a safari, and you can't beat that!
Survivorite: Did you really tell the truth about Clarence?
Diane Ogden: Everybody that knows me knows I'm not a liar, and yes, I did tell the truth about Clarence. Clarence knows that, too. So, like I teach my children, when you tell the truth, it might stink and you still might get punished, but at least people will trust you, and trust is what it's ALL about.
