Lex van den Berghe: Good question! First of all, Brandon has organized a benefit for his local AIDS charity in Dallas, and all 16 of us will be flying to Dallas next week for the benefit. Also, I'm in the process right now of organizing a charity benefit for the Santa Cruz AIDS Project (SCAP). The date isn't firm yet, but it'll probably be within the next two weeks. My band Lucky Dog will be playing a live set. I'll be raffling off some cool SURVIVOR autographed memorabilia, and we've got some other fun stuff planned as well.

Some of us from the show, especially the Final Four, have also been discussing the possibility of trying to pitch a network on taking us back to the Wamba hospital so we can increase AIDS awareness as well as awareness of the cause and the people supporting it in Africa. We also hope to raise money so we can continue to contribute on a regular basis to the Wamba hospital. All of us that participated in SURVIVOR have expressed our commitment to help fight AIDS and support the cause any time we can.

LuckyDogRox: Hey there, Lex! Okay, I really hope my questions get asked because A) You were my favorite castaway since day one; B) I am a fellow Bay area person; C) I worked the graveyard shift last night, just so I could be home for the SURVIVOR Chat. So let me ask: do you think you would have won if you weren't cursed with your stomach problems that last day? I was really bummed out over that; I really wanted you to win, and you deserved it the most. You really kicked butt!
Lex van den Berghe: Hey, thanks a lot for your support and the sacrifice you made to make it to the Chat! I have a feeling that if I hadn't been stricken with that nasty case of the runs and fever that I probably would have kicked butt in that last Immunity Challenge. It really sucked for everything to have to end that way. I would much rather have lost the game by screwing up or by pissing someone off. The fact of the matter is by the time we got to that Immunity Challenge I was totally dehydrated, exhausted, feverish and sick as a dog. I held out as long as I could, but I knew that when I fell off a little after three hours that I was probably the next one to go.

demarco: Hi Lex, I missed your band's website the other time on TV. could you provide the address again?
Lex van den Berghe: The band's name is Lucky Dog and the site is at www.luckydogrocks.com. We have MP3 samples of some of our songs up there, and you can actually order our debut album online right now.

StickyFingers: Lex: heard you and big Tom went on quite a bender on your Safari reward. What can you tell us of Tom's antics?
