HIT THE RUNWAY
Since Chris C. is the Broadway Team’s leader, Mr. Hilfiger puts him on the spot. He appreciates that Chris stepped forward and showed tremendous leadership. When he asks Chris who participated the least on his team, Chris taps Jessica and Amy. The two women step forward to plead their cases. Jessica one-ups Amy when she notes that she saved her team money by persuading Print National to give them a discount on their decals. Mr. Hilfiger then turns to the rest of the Broadway Team’s members and asks them who worked the least. Rob, Wes and Chris feel that Amy did, while James, Deanna and Shauna and feel that Jessica did. The decision is left up to Mr. Hilfiger. "Amy, I did not see enough initiative or creativity from you. And Jessica, you showed a tremendous lack of leadership, but you did save money for your team. Amy, you’re out of style. You’ll have to take the runway.”
Amy is surprised to be the first person cut. “It’s a loss for both teams because I am an amazing asset and they’re not going to get the opportunity to see that,” she says.
Before leaving, Mr. Hilfiger adds, “I am prepared to put the global resources of my corp. behind the great next design talent. Hopefully, I will find a great talent in this room, but at this point in time I am petrified.”
