Bug Juice

Bug Juice can be just about any concoction of juices that you can think of: fruit punch with ginger ale, cranberry-orange and seltzer, non-carbonated, non-alcoholic, enhanced with sherbet, whatever whets your whistle. Traditional bug juice was simply water, iodine pills and presweetened drink mix to cover up the terrible iodine taste. For the upscale camping trip I wanted to offer the guests something authentic, refreshing and non-alcoholic. I used organic fruit juice and served it in wineglasses. For a fun cocktail, I mixed in some sparkling wine for a Bug Juice Spritzer.
