Wall or Floor Mural

Materials
primed canvas roll
acrylic paints
pencil
ruler
masking tape
clear varnish

Create your own mural or rug for a few dollars! The hard floor is the best place to work on this project (wear kneepads or kneel on a towel). Be sure to cover your floor to protect the surface.

1. Tape or weight the canvas on the floor.
2. Sketch a design or image on the canvas, or use the ruler or masking tape to create a geometric pattern for a rug.
3. Paint the mural and allow it to dry for 24 hours. Peel off the tape carefully if you used it as a mask. (I like to mask the edges for a clean "frame" around the image.)
4. Spray the mural with varnish to protect the image.

Place the colorful rug on the floor or hang it on the wall. It will survive spills if you scrub gently with soap and water.
Note: To create custom place mats, cut the canvas into mat sized pieces.
