Marylou's Party Kisses
These elegant looking, great tasting, easy to make at the last minute fruit filled cookies are a delight for any occasion. They were originally intended for pineapple preserves but you can use your favorite fruit or whatever preserves you have on hand. I named them after my "Donna Reed" mother-in-law Marylou, who told me the recipe on my way to the airport!
Ingredients
1 stick butter
1- 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
2 cups flour
preserves of your choice
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
1. In medium mixing bowl, mix cream cheese and butter.
2. Gradually work in flour and mix until dough forms ball.
3. Lay onto lightly floured counter.
4. With rolling pin, roll out dough flat and thin.
5. Cut into 3" squares.
6. Place a small dollop of preserves in center of every square.
7. Lift up two opposite corners and pinch dough together. (You should have a mini canoli-ish looking bundle.)
8. Place carefully on oiled cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until bottoms are golden.
9. Remove from oven. Cool. Plate. Enjoy!
