Candace’s Doggie Bone
I knew that Candace and her husband would be enjoying a midnight snack later that evening and thought their canine family member might enjoy joining them with a snack of his own. Dog biscuits are easy to make and can vary in taste and texture depending on what ingredients you have on hand. Have fun experimenting. No complaints there because no matter how they come out your pooch will love you for it!
Ingredients
¼ cup grated cheese
2 tablespoons wheat germ
1 pkg. powdered yeast
lean meat scraps chopped very fine
1 garlic clove minced fine
1 egg
1 tablespoon olive oil
handful of flour
Directions
1. Mix cheese, wheat germ, yeast, meat and garlic in a bowl.
2. Add egg and olive oil. Stir.
3. Add enough flour to hold mixture together.
4. Place dough ball on floured surface and form into a dog bone with your hands or roll out and use a dog bone cookie cutter (available in finer kitchen stores.)
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden.
6. Let cool and serve.
