Directions
1. Follow directions on papier-mâché kit to make the mask form. Allow time for the layers of papier-mâché to dry. Sandpaper can be used to buff any rough spots on the form. A pre-made mask form can be used instead of making your own form.
2. Use spray mount adhesive to apply the fabric to the mask. Cut slits in the fabric that covers the openings for the eyes, nose and mouth. Then push the fabric through the openings to the back and secure with glue. Cover the back of the mask with fabric also. This will hide where the fabric is wrapped around the edges and it will keep the mask from scratching your face.
3. Use the handsaw to cut the dowel rod to the desired length for the handle. Wrap the dowel rod with ribbon and secure ends of ribbon with glue. Attach the dowel rod to the mask with hot glue.
4. Embellish mask with ribbon, feathers, beads and rhinestones
