Monogrammed Blankets

Supplies
purchased blankets
sew on or iron on alphabet letter that represents either the first or last name initial of the recipient
needle and thread
attractive wide ribbon
branch with artificial berries or other decorative addition

This is a very simple project that will add a personal touch to a very practical gift. I chose a faux shearling blanket for this challenge because it suited the look we were going for (rustic elegance) perfectly. You could choose any type of blanket.

First locate the place you want your monogram initial to be. I set my initial on an angle in one of the corners. Using a simple whipstitch, sew the letter in place with needle and thread. Once secure, knot off and cut extra thread. Fold the finished blanket into a square making sure the monogrammed corner faces front. Wrap the ribbon around the gift, finishing with a bow. Slide a flower, decorative branch, or other festive addition under the bow.
