Margo's Famous Apple Tart Recipe
Crust for Pie Size Tart
3tbs granulated sugar
7oz graham crackers (approx 13 ea)
1 cup melted butter
Mix sugar & crackers in a bowl - stir in melted butter
Press into 9-inch pie pan (place in freezer for at least4 hours)
Crust for Small Ramekin Tart
Defrost 1/3 package of purchased Filo Dough accordingly to package instructions
Mold dough into 3" ramekin dishes--brush generously with melted butter.
Place on a baking sheet & bake according to package instructions
Let cool.
Apple Filing
Thinly slice approximately 4 cups of 4 different variety apples (use your favorites)
Place apples in saucepan and cover with 1 cup dark brown sugar.
Cover and simmer for 1 hour until apples are tender.
Set aside to cool.
Tart Topping
10oz softened cream cheese
6oz sour cream
2/3 cup sifted confection sugar
1 cup heavy cream
Mix cheese, sour cream, and confection sugar, set aside
Whip heavy cream in a pre-chilled mixing bowl
Fold together cheese mixture & cream
Spoon into prepared Tart crusts
Chill 4 hours or overnight
Enjoy!
