Apple Floral Arrangement

To make a floral arrangement similar to the one I made in the first episode, it is best to first know the size you want the overall arrangement to be. You can best determine this by the size of your container combined with the height of the flowers and materials you choose. I used a relatively large basket for the apple arrangement simply because I wanted it to be rather large due to the size of the apples as well the flowers I had to work with. After I selected the container, I then lined the basket with florist foil and filled it with water soaked floral foam. You could also use a plastic, glass or ceramic liner to hold the foam, just be certain the liner is watertight.

The next step in creating this arrangement is to insert floral picks into the bottom part of the apples to hold them into place in the arrangement. I then inserted the apples into the foam in groups of two and three. I also chose apples with a variety of color for a more natural look. I then began placing the different selection of flowers into the foam also in groupings. The tulips are in one group, the roses are in another and so on. This also gives a more natural, garden look to the finished arrangement. Finally, I finished off the centerpiece with cuttings of fresh ivy and vines I cut from the gardens of the estate. This gives the overall finished product a very lush and natural garden appeal.

Always keep in mind that the very same look can be achieved on a smaller or grander scale. You can also change the look by using different varieties of fruits and vegetables combined with other types of seasonal flowers in a vast array of colors. Just keep it natural, and remember: you can't really make flowers any prettier than they already are. Cut loose and be creative!
