CARRIAGE HOUSE MAKE-OVER
As the previous challenges have tested the Perfectionists' skills in the dining room, in the kitchen and in the outdoors, Joan explains that the next competition will test their knowledge in the workshop. Above the 19th Century carriage house on the Estate is an apartment with two bedrooms--one for each team to remodel. There is also a large great room divided into two sections by a curtain. Team Artisan is to create a dining room and fitness area on one side of the curtain and the Crafty Beavers are to design a home office and media center on the other. Each team is required to create at least one original piece of art and they must build a bed with a custom headboard made completely from scratch. Both teams will be supplied with equal amounts of hardware and lumber, and for the first time in the game, the teams will use the design workshop at the same time. They will each have a budget of $15,000 to use exclusively at Sears, but must select their supplies within a one-hour time limit. Judging will be based on creativity, ingenuity and overall craftsmanship.
