We asked Art & JJ questions that YOU (the fans!) sent in via Facebook and Twitter. See what they had to say about their time in the game here!
Derek B.: How big of an impact did this race have on your relationships with your partner?
JJ: When Art and I started the race, we've known each other for 8 month as friends and colleagues, but towards the end we became very good friends and now I love him like a brother. The race is so powerful - years of life were condensed into several weeks. Art still drives me crazy but I love him.
Art: I don't know how you can pick someone out you've known for such a short while to go on the Race with - but it feels like we've known each other forever. It was an awesome experience and I will cherish it forever. Like JJ said, he is like a brother to me.
Jasmine C.: Did you guys actually realize at the time how big of a mistake Dave and Rachel made, and the big chance you had to win the race?
Art: I didn't realize how big of a mistake they made until they went to the finish line. I though we were in second place the whole time. I was so tired and I guess it didn't register until we got to the end that we had a chance to win this.
JJ: I thought we were 2nd place the whole time...I heard their voices before I saw them and I was really excited when I realized we had a chance to win this whole thing. It just didn't pan out at the time and it's something Art and I will have to live with. That moment was a great example of what the race is about. You never ever give up because you don't know how it's going to end.
Nancy S.: Is JJ still upset for being so close to winning and having it at the palm of their hands, when Art couldn't complete the Road Block that cost them first place?
JJ: I'm still upset yes, that we didn't win, but I'm not upset at all with Art. We got there because of Art and we will win or lose as a team. It's just one of those things in life that just wasn't meant to be. It was in no way Art's fault.
Randy B.: If you won the race and had to share a tenth of your winnings with another team, which team would be your first choice, last choice and why?
Art: If I shared a tenth - it would probably be with Bopper because of his daughter. I would love to give him a hand - If it were me, I would want to do everything for my child as well. I don't think there's a team out there that was less deserving so I don't think there is a least deserving team.
JJ: First choice would be Bopper and I wouldn't want to choose a last choice to share it with.
Maria M.: How did you prepare mentally for the race, and do you feel older contestants have the same chances as the younger ones?
JJ: We looked at maps and I worked out. Also, we don't see ourselves as the old team...if you have good communication and you don't give up, you have a chance at winning.
Art: Being older isn't a detriment; you know a lot more as you get older. You can sit back and look at everything through a different lens.
