Allow us to introduce you to Young Sheldon, a new half-hour spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, that is set to premiere during the 2017-2018 CBS broadcast season.
The spinoff will follow 9-year-old Sheldon Cooper, played by newcomer Iain Armitage (pictured below), as the child prodigy navigates his young life in east Texas.
Jim Parsons, who established the beloved character on The Big Bang Theory, will also narrate the comedy as Adult Sheldon.
The first episode of Young Sheldon will be directed and executive produced by Jon Favreau (Swingers, Iron Man), and the series will star Armitage (Big Little Lies, I'm Not Here), as well as Zoe Perry (The Family, The Loss Of A Teardrop Diamond), Lance Barber (The Comeback, Gangster Squad), Raegan Revord (Modern Family, Grace And Frankie), and Montana Jordan (The Legacy Of A Whitetail Deer Hunter).
Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak will serve as executive producers of the series, from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television.
