When a gangbanger dies after Jamie chases him away from Tomas, Jamie’s at-risk youth mentee who is part of the Juvenile Robbery Prevention Program (JRIP), Tomas, the JRIP program and Jamie’s conduct are called into question. Protecting Tomas as the only witness to what happened becomes increasingly dangerous when other gang bangers mark him and his family. Following the incident, Frank defends his pilot JRIP program but must weigh the economic cost of keeping the program over the human cost of terminating it. Meanwhile, Danny’s former girlfriend from high school calls for his help with her seemingly steroid-pumped, violent boyfriend, leading to an investigation into drug dealing at the boyfriend’s gym.
