When James Corden has musical disagreements with guests on The Late Late Show, he settles it with an a capella riff-off. He's squared off against Anna Kendrick, Neil Patrick Harris, Shawn Mendes, and Adam Lambert. The fact he always loses doesn't seem to affect James' confidence and he keeps challenging musical stars.
Most recently, Demi Lovato and James disagreed over whether or not divas from the past are better than divas today. Riff-off! The a capella group Level provided the backing vocals while James tried to prove his point by singing Tina Turner's "River Deep, Mountain High" and Aretha Franklin's "Respect." Demi countered with Adele's "Rollin' in the Deep," Katy Perry's "Roar," and her own "Heart Attack."
James conceded to Demi, but she didn't gloat. She had him to join her in a duet of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive." Watch the full video above for some truly impressive musical talent.
