Sarah Michelle Gellar’s performances in both television and film has made her a fan favorite for both audiences and critics worldwide. Gellar is best known for her iconic role as Buffy Summers in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Most recently, Gellar starred in The CW’s “Ringer,” and also served as executive producer. Gellar started her career on the daytime drama “All My Children,” and received a Daytime Emmy Award for her role. She went on to star in numerous hit films, such as “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” “Scream 2,” “Cruel Intentions,” “Scooby-Doo” and “The Grudge.” Gellar has lent her voice to numerous animated projects, including “Robot Chicken,” “The Simpsons,” “American Dad,” “Happily N'Ever After” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” A New York native, Gellar is an advocate for many charities. She is an ambassador for the nonprofit organization CARE, which helps raise awareness about the plight of young girls in developing countries. With her work for CARE, Gellar has traveled to Guatemala, Tanzania and Zanzibar, Africa. She has also worked as an advocate for Breast Cancer awareness and the Education for ALL Act. Additionally, Gellar has devoted her time to Make-a-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Planned Parenthood, Los Angeles Free Clinic, Project Angel Food and the Starbright Foundation. Gellar resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Freddie Prinze, Jr., and their two children. Her birthday is April 14.
