We caught up with the fashion guru to find out his inspiration, style choices, and insider fashion tips from the latest episode of The Good Fight, "Social Media And Its Discontents."

Name an adjective to describe each woman's style this episode.

For Diane Lockhart, played by Christine Baranski, "Fabulous."
For Lucca Quinn, played by Cush Jumbo, "Flirty."
For Maia Rindell, played by Rose Leslie, "Strong."

What was your favorite look or piece from this episode?

It is actually the look above. Diane's "Variations in Cream" is one of my favorite outfits ever from either The Good Wife or The Good Fight. I thought this was one of the most chic looks on Diane. The textured cream Akris knit top with the brocade St. John coat with the beige/gray—or greige—brushed wool Max Mara skirt was a symphony of textures. I thought it was a very unexpected work look. The way it was put together and the way Christine wore it made it believable but it didn't fit the traditional mold of a "lawyer" suit. I thought it made Diane look fresh, modern, and very chic.

How exciting is it for you to outfit some of the more eccentric characters? It's incredible how Elsbeth's outfits represent her personality.

Dressing Carrie Preston as Elsbeth is one of my favorite jobs! Carrie is such a lovely person to work with and we are very much in sync with how Elsbeth looks. I like to think that her clothes underscore what Carrie does with the character. There truly is a level of reality with her costumes but they also have a quirkiness that plays up Elsbeth's unique take on the world.

In the look above, Elsbeth is wearing a Zara navy blazer with taupe horizontal stripes, a yellow and white Nine West bowed blouse, and a wonderful wide leg wool crepe pant by Elie Tahari. In this case, the whimsy of the yellow and white blouse with the structure of the graphic horizontal stripes play very well off one another; again, a quirkiness to her staid, lawyer side.

When watching the scene where Felix Staples first appears, his outfit speaks volumes about his personality—how did you put together this ensemble? What made you choose this outfit for Staples' third appearance as opposed to the first or second?

The thing about Felix is he is always seeking attention. His showiness builds as the episode goes on. He starts in a simple colorful sweater when he is at home on his computer. By the time we get to his last look, he is really being a dandy strutting his stuff for all to see.

And then Diane slaps him down by hardly paying him any mind. I love that he was so over the top by this point and yet no one was really paying any attention. In this look, he is wearing a Thomas Pink white dress shirt with a Polo turquoise "V" neck sweater and blue silk floral Burberry jacket.

I finished the look with a purple Ted Baker tie, Zara black shiny oxfords, and silver and purple cufflinks. John Cameron Mitchell has exquisite taste, so he kept me honest by not going too over the top, which I think helped make him even more believable and relatable to our audience.
