Nelson Franklin was born and raised in Los Angeles and is six-and-a-half-feet tall. Despite these two obvious deterrents, he has pursued a career in acting since high school, when he was mistakenly enrolled in a drama elective. “I was the only dude in a class of girls, so I figured I would give it a chance,” he was quoted saying, shortly after that fateful day in 1999. Most recently, Nelson Franklin had recurring roles on “New Girl” and “VEEP.” His additional television credits include “Traffic Light,” “The Office” and “Party Down.” His feature film credits include “Argo,” “Jobs,” “Scott Pilgrim Versus the World” and “I Love You, Man.” Also, he starred in Funny or Die’s first full length feature, “Answer This.” His favorite authors include Gary Larson, Bill Watterson, and Harold Pinter. His favorite film is “Raging Bull” and his favorite animated series are “The Simpsons” and “The Critic.” Nelson is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is half-French, and while he is no longer fluent, he “could probably pick it back up if I was over there.” Franklin lives in Los Angeles. Follow him on Twitter @NelsonFranklin.
