8. Alicia finds her footing.
After resigning as State's Attorney, Alicia becomes convinced that Diane and Cary are trying to push her out of the firm—the firm she started. With no back-up plan, and the encouragement of Peter, she decides to start her own firm solo. With little-to-no communication, game-changing choices are made. It culminates in an argument between Alicia and Diane in which they each accuse the other of betrayal. (Of course, they would eventually reconcile.)
