A Chance to Win Half a Million Dollars!
THE PRICE IS RIGHT welcomes the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol for a weeklong giveaway event Monday, April 9 - Friday, April 13, (11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, ET; 10:00-11:00 AM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.  With five days in a row of everybody's favorite PRICE IS RIGHT game, Plinko, contestants will get a big surprise each day when host Drew Carey informs them that the PCH Prize Patrol is in the house and will double their winnings for every Plinko chip that lands in the coveted middle spot.  Instead of winning $10,000 for each chip, PCH is doubling the amount to $20,000, giving each Plinko player the opportunity to win $100,000.  With Plinko part of the show every day for a full week, players will have an opportunity to win half a million dollars in cash, in addition to the prizes and showcases featured throughout the shows.

Two Semi-Finalists from Each Participating Market Will Be Flown to Los Angeles; One of The Two is Guaranteed to be on Contestants' Row THE PRICE IS RIGHT is kicked off its annual casting call for contestants to appear during the 40th season of the game show. Once again, contestant searches took place in and around cities across the United States beginning last July. Representatives from each participating local CBS-owned and affiliate station were on hand to interview and videotape contestant hopefuls vying for free trips to Los Angeles, with guaranteed spots in the studio audience. Two participants were selected from each market to fly to Los Angeles and attend a taping of the legendary game show, starting in fall 2011. A bidder's spot on Contestants' Row will be guaranteed to one of the two participants, who will learn if they are selected to "come on down" when they hear their name called during the show's taping.

PRICE Marked Its 40th Season with Celebrity Week
THE PRICE IS RIGHT, the longest-running game show in television history, hosted by Drew Carey, will mark its 40th season on CBS with a freshly updated set, and a look back at some memorable moments when the season premieres Monday, Sept. 19 on the CBS Television Network. In addition, the show will air its first-ever celebrity week the week of Jan. 2, 2012. During the first week, PRICE will take a look back at its rich history with classic clips that include the first PRICE episode and the first time Plinko was played. In addition, one of the biggest prize giveaways in the show’s history takes place during this first week, and on Wednesday, Sept. 28, THE PRICE IS RIGHT will air its 7,500th episode. This season of THE PRICE IS RIGHT will also feature some of the show's most exciting prizes ever, including luxury cars, computer systems and high-end fashion. Throughout the season, THE PRICE IS RIGHT will air special event showcases that include trips of a lifetime, tickets to awards shows and celebrity events, and performances by casts of Broadway musicals such as “Billy Elliot.” During the week of January 2, 2012, an array of stars including Snoop Dog, Jenny McCarthy, and Neil Patrick Harris will headline a special celebrity week of shows as they play with contestants in their favorite games for the charities of their choice. Other special episodes include salutes to teachers and nurses, a breast cancer awareness show, and PRICE’s traditional Veterans Day show. The most expensive single prize ever offered on THE PRICE IS RIGHT was a Tesla Roadster worth $112,845. * The show's popular “Cliff Hangers” game has been played more than 700 times, with “the yodelly guy,” as he has been affectionately named, going over the edge 282 times. * Models have highlighted prizes with that world-famous PRICE IS RIGHT “wrist flip” more than 300,000 times. * Every single episode of THE PRICE IS RIGHT on CBS Daytime has been taped in Studio 33 at CBS Television City in Hollywood. One prime time special was taped in Las Vegas to celebrate the show's 30th season. * To celebrate his long tenure as host and the show's 5,000th episode, CBS renamed Studio 33 “Bob Barker Studio” on April 9, 1998.
