Talk Takeaway: Numerology with Glynis McCants

Posted on Oct 23, 2012 06:45am

Glynis McCants is a celebrity numerologist who will discuss the qualities of each Life Path number.

What is numerology?

Numerology is a science of numbers.  Everything in the universe has a vibration and this is tried to number.  Our numbers determine why you may say, "I like that person" or "That person drained me when you meet someone."  That's why numbers matter to know a person!

Your Life Path number tells me who you really are.  This number is the most important number in numerology.  To find out your Life Path number you take your full date of birth including the complete year and reduce it to one digit. For example, Tom Cruise was born 7-3-1962.  Break down his birthday numbers:

7+3+1+9+6+2=28

2+8=10

1+0=1

1 is the Life Path number for Tom Cruise.

Why do we need to break it down to one digit? Because Numerology numbers go from 1 to 9. When you add together the month, the day and the year, that is the number that will truly fulfill you.

(Note: If your full birth date reduces down to 11 or 22, read the definitions of the 2 Life Path and the 4 Life Path respectively.)

Life Path Number 1: Self-motivated

1's like Tom Cruise, (PHOTO) are self-motivated.  They are independent and hard workers. They have a strong desire to be #1. They are critical of themselves and as a result, can be critical of others. When the 1 Life Path has won a personal victory, their face radiates with pure joy. Multitasking is something they tend to be very good at, and keeping busy is important to them. The 1's will not tolerate laziness from the people they spend their time with.

Life Path Number 2: Seeks love

2's seek love.  This is Ryan Reynolds. (PHOTO)  They want peace. They make good mediators.  They are very loyal, and when they say that they love you, count on it!  They welcome companionship and the chance to share their lives with someone special.  The flip side is that if they feel threatened or pushed to the wall, they become the terrible 2's. But ultimately, they do not want conflict.

Life Path Number 3: Communicator

3's are optimistic.  This would be Sheryl Underwood.  3's communicate in all areas: written word and verbal. They tend to be writers, radio broadcasters, actors, singers, performers, counselors. They are also the natural comedian. They can be manic depressive if they do not use their creative energy and tend to exaggerate the truth. Furthermore, they are known for their trademark smile, eyes and voice.

Life Path Number 4: Seeks knowledge

4's seek knowledge and security. This is Oprah Winfrey. (PHOTO) Home is their haven. They are usually very cerebral and need to find ways to relax their minds. They just do it. Otherwise, great ideas live and die in their heads.  The 4's like to be organized and to put things back in their "proper place". If their home environment appears sloppy and unkempt, that is a sign that the 4 Life Paths are not doing well.

Life Path Number 5: Thrive on freedom and adventure

5's thrive on freedom, fun, and adventure. This is Beyoncé. (PHOTO) If they do not live the adventure, their lives become way too dramatic. They are the natural detectives and celebrators of life (holidays are usually their specialty). 5's have a hard time settling down and have a fear of being trapped or smothered in a relationship.

Life Path Number 6: Needs to be in charge

6's are nurturers. This is Julie Chen.  If men, they rescue damsels in distress. If women, they mother the "little boy" in their men. They should manage or run the company. If everything is going smoothly, they must be careful not to ruin it. They tend to put people on pedestals which then topple. Magnetic people are drawn to them. Their moods affect the room.

Life Path Number 7: Needs sacred space

7's are another cerebral number. This is Sara Gilbert. They have to have their sacred space. They have a love of natural beauty: ocean, green grass, plants, flowers, etc. If they do not have faith they tend to become very cynical and escape through drugs, alcohol, work, or geography. They have an air of mystery and do not want you to know who they are.

Life Path Number 8: Seeks financial security

8's do not feel safe unless they have found a way to establish financial security. This is Aisha Tyler.  It is difficult for the 8's to take advice.  When they make a choice, they must feel it is their decision, NOT SOMEONE ELSES. As a result, they do tend to learn the hard way. 8's are very honest and by being so blunt, they unintentionally hurt feelings. Although they can sometimes appear insensitive, what is going on inside them is the exact opposite. They do feel deeply about everything that goes on in their lives.

Life Path Number 9: Humanitarian

9's are humanitarians. This is Sharon Osbourne.  People assume they are in charge even if they are not. If in a department store, people think they work there. They take care of everyone else but need to learn to speak up when they need help, love, and hugs. 9's often feel unloved or abandoned by their mother or father, or they feel completely responsible for them. It's hard for them to let go of the past.
