The Talk - Eric Braeden Almost Said 'No' to 'Titanic' Role: 'It just wasn't big enough'
Air Date: 02/10/17
Eric Braeden recalls his role in the 1997 blockbuster "Titanic," which he filmed while starring on the CBS daytime drama "The Young and the Restless." On almost turning down the role of John Jacob Astor IV, he shares, "It just wasn't big enough of a role... I went down the drain in that damn thing... I finally agreed to do it." Once he signed on, a few of the crew shared negative sentiments of director James Cameron, but Braeden's experience was positive. "He couldn't have been more charming... We had a wonderful time. James Cameron is arguably, I would say, one of the few geniuses I have met."
