Angell Conwell joined the cast of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS in December, 2010. She plays the role of attorney Leslie Michaelson, sister of Tyler Michaelson (Redaric Williams).
Conwell was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina and moved to Columbia, South Carolina at the age of two. She attended Seven Oaks Elementary School in Columbia where she was the first African-American student body president. After winning countless pageants locally, she signed with Wilhelmina's Kids Division in New York at the age of 10 and soon landed a role in August Wilson's highly acclaimed, "Fences.”
At age 11, Conwell and her mother packed their bags and headed to Los Angeles for pilot season. She got her first starring role as Meshach Taylor's daughter on the CBS show "Dave's World.” She has guest star and recurred on several television series including “NYPD Blue,” “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “Moesha,” and “3rd Rock from the Sun.”
At 17, John Singleton cast Conwell in her first silver screen role in "Baby Boy." She also appeared in the feature films "The Wash" and "Soul Plane."
In her spare time she enjoys comedy, designing clothes, volunteering, laughing, spending time with friends and family, traveling and learning.
