Jolene Purdy

Jolene Purdy has brought to life a diverse array of characters to film, television and stage. Born and raised in Torrance, Calif., Purdy knew from childhood that a career in acting was the only path for her. As a student at Redondo Union High School, she enrolled in their performing arts program and participated in a handful of her school’s musical theater productions. Upon graduation, Purdy landed a job at Disneyland’s California Adventure, singing in their live action “Aladdin” production. Looking to break into the professional world, Purdy booked her first audition and won the role in a film that would become a cult hit, as the lovable “Cherita Chen” in “Donnie Darko.” Purdy’s television credits include her starring role on “Gigantic,” a recurring role on “10 Things I Hate About You” and guest-starring roles on “Breaking Bad,” “Glee” and “Raising Hope.” When not acting, Purdy enjoys spending time with her husband and their West Highland Terrier dog, Mochi. She lives in Long Beach, Calif., and likes to walk on the beach and shop at local boutiques. Her birthdate is Dec. 9. She can be followed on Twitter @jojopurdy.
