President and CEO, Checkers & Rally's Drive-In Restaurants
Silva has nearly 20 years of experience in the fast food business, and spent 13 years at Burger King before taking the job as CEO of Checkers and Rally's.
Why the Boss wants to go undercover:
Rick Silva has obtained unprecedented growth in his company since taking over as CEO five years ago. Silva wants to go undercover to find ways to continue to grow his business over the next three years. Silva's goal is to build Checkers & Rally's to be on the same level as Wendy's or McDonalds and will stop at nothing to obtain perfection. He believes the key to growth is to understand his customers and won't serve anything on his menu that hasn't gone through extensive focus groups.
Jobs he will do while undercover:
Crew Member: The boss finds himself flipping burgers and running the fry station. When faced with a disrespectful General Manager and a restaurant full of untrained employees, how will this perfectionist react when he realizes his guests are getting substandard food in a horrible environment?
General Manager: Speed is the key to customer service at all the restaurants. What will this CEO do when he is faced with running the walk-up window and manning the drive-thru where speed is king?
Sandwich Maker: The boss is put to the test assembling sandwiches in the most demanding job in the fast food kitchen. Will he be able to meet his own tough standards of food quality and speed?
