3. What did you hope to learn through this experience and do you feel you accomplished that?
Scott: "I hoped to learn a little more about my employees, and I learned a lot more. I wanted to experience what my father did every day within our company firsthand and I did. I always preach that Gerber Group is a family and they reiterated this to me. They truly care about their co-workers.
I also took away from this that I want to do more for our employees outside of work. We have started a health and wellness program for employees, encouraging them to participate in a variety of activities that interest them, like SoulCycle, yoga classes, as well as social events, like bowling. We have also gotten involved in charities that our staff is passionate about and positively impacts our local community, such as Bowery Mission."
