Bliss: Q & A with Barrett Foa and Renee Felice Smith

­­ Playing opposite each other as tech operator/surfer Eric Beale and intelligence analyst Nell Jones on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Barrett Foa and Renée Felice Smith certainly have different personalities and tastes. We asked them about their eating habits; here's what pleases their palates.

The food I munch on during long days on set:
Barrett: The craft-service table on set can be a minefield of fatty, guilty shame. Dr. Schulze makes these SuperFood Bars that are crazy-good for you and taste like dried fruit, nuts and sea algae. (Who am I kidding? By the time Hour 11 rolls around, I'm reaching for the Dove chocolate.)

Renée: I try to behave myself and reach for a piece of fruit.

The most unusual thing I've ever eaten:
Barrett: Crispy pig's ear at the Los Angeles restaurant Animal.

Renée: Maybe squid? Sorry guys, I'm no Andrew Zimmern.

My favorite food from childhood:
Barrett: My mom used to make my brother and me these huge plate-sized apple pancakes that we loved. When I was around 10, I realized I could stuff the whole thing in my mouth in one bite. It was a proud moment.

Renée: French onion soup. Hands down.

The one food I absolutely hate:
Barrett: Okra. Come on. No.

Renée: Swedish fish. They literally make me nauseous.

My cocktail of choice:
Barrett: Anything that has bitters in it and is not sweet. Whiskey. Rye. I'm really liking Manhattans lately. It's where I'm from; I might as well drink my hometown.

Renée: Margarita with salt, please.
