Carrie Marie Underwood (born March 10, 1983) is an American country music singer who rose to fame as the winner of the fourth season of American Idol. Underwood was born at Muskogee Regional Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Stephen and Carole Underwood. She was raised on her parents' farm in rural Checotah, Oklahoma.

 

Underwood's musical influences include pop, but are predominantly country. Her additional musical talents include guitar, piano, and yodeling.
