Last year, hundreds of fans submitted CHRISTMAS SHOES questions for Rob Lowe. Below are the selected questions, along with Rob Lowe's answers.
Kenya Brunson, Washington, DC
What attracted you to the story THE CHRISTMAS SHOES?
Rob Lowe: It made me cry. I consider myself as manly as the next guy, but I'm never above a good cry.
Angela, New Orleans, LA
First, I love your work. Were you familiar with the book or song before you signed on to do the movie?
Rob Lowe: I knew the song was a hit, but I personally never heard it. I also didn't read the book until after I read the screenplay.
Wendee Borchardt, Portland, OR
As a father, how do you relate to the kind of father your character is in THE CHRISTMAS SHOES?
Rob Lowe: Until he has his epiphany, my character is the type of father I'm always trying not to be. But I can sympathize, and understand the dilemma of having the pressure of an all-encompassing job and being equally available to a family.
Courtney, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Did you enjoy filming THE CHRISTMAS SHOES in Nova Scotia?
Rob Lowe: Yes! It's such a beautiful city, and for someone who likes to run every day after work, there are so many great places to jog. For once, I came back in better shape than when I left! And of course I loved the people, who were so nice.
Mike Gilbert, Greensboro, NC
Our church is doing THE CHRISTMAS SHOES, The Musical. The characters have had a big impact on our lives spiritually. How has the film impacted your life?
Rob Lowe: First, if the guy playing Rob is a better actor than me, I'm coming after him. I think the message of being open to the smallest miracle is a very important one.
Liz, Omaha, NE
Would you ever wear the Christmas Shoes?
Rob Lowe: Yes! No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get them to fit.
Teresa Meza, Wilmington, CA
Can I buy this movie in any store? Thank you.
Rob Lowe: Hopefully, it will be available in your video store in the next few months.
Tamra, Bridgeton
Rob, how does your experience making THE CHRISTMAS SHOES compare with your other films?
Rob Lowe: One of the things I enjoyed most was that everyone involved, from top to bottom, had one agenda only: "How can we make this project the best it can be?" There were no crazy egos, just teamwork.
JB, Las Vegas, NV
What was it like to work with Kimberly Williams?
Rob Lowe: My big problem with working with Kimberly Williams was that I only had one scene with her. She's amazing in the movie: real, funny, and clearly heartbreaking.
