Elvis Priscilla Lisa Marie

Elvis Presley was born January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi and moved to Memphis, Tennessee with his parents in 1948.
He began his singing career in 1954 with "That's All Right," his first single for Sun Records. He started recording for RCA in 1956 and received his first Gold Record for "Heartbreak Hotel" shortly after its release. With powerful charisma and a unique, natural blending of pop, country, gospel and R&B influences, Elvis became the leading force of the rock 'n' roll revolution of the 1950s, an international superstar and ultimately an icon of popular culture.
Presley starred in 31 feature films, including "Jailhouse Rock," "King Creole," "Blue Hawaii" and "Viva Las Vegas." He appeared on television on "The Milton Berle Show" and "The Ed Sullivan Show," as well as on three television specials, including "Elvis." He received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement award at age 36. Posthumously, he was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll, Country and Gospel halls of fame, the only artist thus far to be a member of all three. To date, 150 of his albums and singles have earned gold, platinum or multi-platinum awards, and he has sold over one billion records worldwide.
Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977 at his Memphis home, Graceland, where each year over 600,000 people come to visit.
