Create a video of yourself of no more than 1 minute in length, singing along or lip-synching to Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl", register at CBS.com, complete all required contest registration field and upload the video. The Contest is open to legal residents of the US, 18 years of age and older, at the time of entering the contest. The top three (3) videos will be showed via a giant video montage displayed behind Katy Perry's live performance at the 51st GRAMMY's Program over the CBS Television Network. Do I need to perform the song?
User submissions may be lip synched or performed in sing along style by participants. Please submit only "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry. Entries received with any other song will not be eligible for the contest nor displayed on CBS.com.What are the dates of the contest?
User generated video submissions are accepted starting on January 5, 2009 through January 21, 2009, the Entry Period. The contest starts on January 5 and ends on February 9, 2009, the Promotion Period. CBS will accept and display video submissions received after February 9, 2009 from participants who accept both the rules and release, but these videos will not be eligible to receive a prize. Since any user submitted video may be used and shown in high resolution on live television, please submit only short, high quality clips. Your videos should be at least 30 seconds in length, but no longer then 1 minute in length. Please keep files under 250 mb in size. Only .wmv, .avi, .mov, and .mpg file types are accepted. Videos containing any copyrighted logos or images in the video (e.g. on a t-shirt, hat, or poster) or containing any nudity, vulgarity, obscenities, or otherwise objectionable content will not be eligible or approved for the contest. By uploading a video and entering the contest you are also representing that any other individuals performing in the video have given you permission to participate in this contest. Up to 5 unique videos, per unique registered user are accepted.When will my video be posted to the CBS.com website?
Videos will either be approved or not approved for contest eligibility within approximately 72 hours of submission. An email notification with the approval or non-approval will be sent to the registered users email address. The eligible participant who registered, uploaded and is depicted on the submitted video and is voted as the Grand Prize Winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize. Participant video submissions will be accepted starting on January 5th and ending on January 21, 2009. The voting and judging of the videos will be divided into four (4) different phases (each a Voting Window). The first Voting Window begins on January 8th and ends on January 23rd. During this first Voting Window the number of eligible videos received will be reduced to the top 20 videos. The top 20 videos will be determined by a combination of both user voting and judging by CBS and GRAMMY judges who will help determine which videos are selected in the top 20 videos (see official rules for details). Users may still continue to upload their videos after January 23rd, however, videos submitted after January 23rd will not be eligible for the contest or grand prize. The second Voting Window begins on January 23rd and ends on January 30, 2009. The top 20 videos will be reduced to the top 10 videos as determined by user voting. The third Voting Window begins on January 30th and ends on February 6, 2009. The top 10 videos will be reduced to the top 3 videos as determined by user voting. The fourth Voting Window begins on February 6th and ends on February 9th, 2009. The top 3 videos will be reduced to the 1, the winning video. The winning video will be determined by a combination of user voting and judging. On February 8th, 2009, the top 3 voted videos will be highlighted in a video montage during the performance of "I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry at the broadcast of the GRAMMY's. The grand prize winner will be announced on or about February 11, 2009.What are the video specifications for submission?
Since any user submitted video may be used and shown in high resolution on live television please submit only short, high quality clips. To increase the chances that your video will be selected to be viewed on air, please follow some simple rules:• All videos should be 4:3 video aspect ratio for best viewing results.
• Files must be in .mov, .wmv, .avi, or .mpg formats
• Preferred compression types are MPEG 2, MPEG 4, H.264 or DV
• A minimum Video Bitrate of 500Kbps & Audio Bitrate of 64Kbps
• A maximum size of 250 MB per video This Contest is offered and open to persons who are: (a) "Registered Users", for purposes of these Official Rules, Registered User(s) means a person that has successfully completed the registration form and has obtained a user identification and associated password on one or more of the following Websites: CBSSports.com, CBSgames.com, cbs.com, and/or CBSnews.com; (b) legal residents of one (1) of the fifty (50) United States or District of Columbia; and (c) at least 18 or older at the date of entry in this Contest. Employees and directors, and their immediate family members, of the Contest Entities, and their parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotion agencies, legal and financial advisors and talent of shows broadcasted through the CBS Television Network are not eligible to participate in this Contest. For purpose of the foregoing "immediate family" means parents, spouses, children, siblings or any members of the same households of such employees and directors. This Contest is void outside of the 50 U.S., in Puerto Rico, all US territories and possessions and where prohibited by law. See official rules for details.
