2/4-9/1988The KGB and Hanssen carry out an exchange operation utilizing one of the new accommodation addresses the KGB had given "B" in November.
3/16/1988 to 3/24/1989The KGB and Hanssen carry out numerous exchanges at several dead-drop spots. During this time, the KGB deposits an additional $50,000 in a Moscow bank account for "B."
April 1989The KGB presents several awards to KGB officers involved in the "B" operation.
8/17/1989 to May 1990Hanssen and the KGB continue with numerous exchange operations, sometimes up to one every two weeks. "B" is rewarded with $55,000 in cash during one drop and a deposit of $50,000 into his Moscow account on another occasion. By now, the KGB has received a total of 19 diskettes of information from "B."
May 1990"B" lets the KGB know that, as a result of a promotion, he will be traveling more and his access to materials will be limited.
6/24/1990Hanssen is reassigned from the Soviet Analytical Unit in the Intelligence Division to the Inspection Division at FBI Headquarters.
8/20/1990The KGB receives an envelope from "B" containing his 20th diskette.
9/3/1990The KGB loads a dead-drop site with a package containing $40,000 in cash and a KGB diskette with a letter.
Summer 1990Hanssen meets Priscilla Galey, a stripper at strip club 1819 in Washington, D.C.
2/2/1991In response to an "emergency" call-out signal from "B," the KGB retrieves a package from "B" containing a letter and diskette 21. "B" passes detailed information to the KGB on FBI coverage of a particular suspected Soviet intelligence officer who was later executed.
2/18/1991The KGB loads a site with a package containing $10,000 in cash and a KGB diskette.
April 1991Hanssen takes Priscilla Galey to Hong Kong.
4/15/1991In response to a call-out signal from "B," he and the KGB carry out an exchange operation at a dead-drop site.
July 1991"B" tells the KGB that he has at least five more years until retirement. Hanssen is eligible for retirement from the FBI in 1996.
7/1/1991Hanssen returns from inspection staff duty to Intelligence Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. He is assigned to a unit responsible for KGB Line X.
7/15/1991After a call-out signal from "B," he and the KGB carry out an exchange operation at a dead-drop site.
8/19/1991After a call-out signal from "B," he and the KGB carry out an exchange operation at another dead-drop site. Attempted coup in Soviet Union.
