Angela Lansbury's professional career spans more than a half-century. In addition to "Murder, She Wrote," the longest-running detective drama series in the history of television (1984- 96), she starred in "Mrs. Santa Claus," an original television musical, which was the third highest-rated made for television movie for the 1996-97 season, "Murder She Wrote: South By Southwest," "Murder She Wrote: A Story to Die For" and "The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax," all on CBS. Her feature film credits include "Gaslight," "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "The Manchurian Candidate," all of which earned her Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress, and the Disney animated feature "Beauty and the Beast." Her numerous Broadway credits include "Mame," "Dear World," "Gypsy" and "Sweeney Todd," for which she won an unprecedented four Tony Awards.
