PLAINSONG, a new "Hallmark Hall of Fame" drama, focuses on the emotional growth and changes that occur over a year's time in the lives of eight very different people who inhabit a small town in rural Colorado. Starring Aidan Quinn and Rachel Griffiths, the story follows Tom (Quinn), a dedicated high school and soon-to-be divorced father of two young boys, and Maggie (Griffiths), a compassionate teacher and divorcee who reaches out to Tom during his period of adjustment. Maggie also comes to the aid of Victoria (America Ferrera), a troubled, pregnant teenager whose mother has disowned her. When Maggie brings Victoria to the farmhouse of two gruff bachelor brothers, Harold and Raymond McPheron (William Andrews and Geoffrey Lewis), the men agree to take her in even though they've lived alone their entire lives.

Connections are forged and lost between the characters in PLAINSONG, but ultimately, the heart of the story is family; the one we're born with, and the one we make along the way.
