 
Eva Braun was born in Simbach, Germany in 1912. In 1932, at the age of 19, she met Hitler while working as an assistant to his photographer, Heinrich Hoffman. Soon afterward, she became Hitler's most well-known female companion. Thirteen years later, on April 28, 1945, Hitler married Braun in a small civil ceremony deep below the Reich Chancellery Gardens, in the Führer Bunker, during the final days of World War II. Eva was 33 and Hitler had turned 54 eight days prior. Two days after their nuptials, on April 30, 1945, at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon, the couple went into Hitler's private study in the bunker and committed suicide together. |
