  Heinrich Hoffman was born in Germany on September 12, 1885. After leaving school, he worked in his father's photography shop. Hoffman then joined the German Army where he worked as an official photographer during World War I. His first book of photos was published in 1919. In 1920, Hoffman joined the National Socialist German Workers' Party and soon became a close friend of Adolf Hitler. He became Hitler's official photographer and traveled with him everywhere. Over the next few years, Hoffman took over 2.5 million photographs of Hitler. |
