Wedding Tips from Colin Cowie
  • Ensure that every aspect of the celebration, from the bridesmaids’ dresses to the icing on the wedding cake, bears the personal stamp of the bride and groom.

  • Your wedding is an opportunity for you and your fiancé to make a statement of style to your friends and family, old and new, as you embark on your new life together.

  • Design a wedding that is completely, utterly yours. Forget what society or tradition dictates about wedding celebrations. Bridal magazines and movies are an excellent source of ideas. But other magazines, such as those that cover fashion, food and home-and-garden subjects, are filled with wonderful ideas on attire, decor and sharing celebrations with friends. Clip articles and photos that strike you as attractive or interesting, and keep them in a folder.

  • At the beginning of your wedding planning process, don’t think small. Think big. Create fantasy. A big idea, or a fantasy that captures your imagination, will inspire you to create that thread of personal style you’ll weave through every element of you own signature wedding.
