Wedding Tips from Colin Cowie
  • I always prefer to do a few things well, rather than trying to do ten things that will stretch my resources. A few elements executed properly is a much more sensible approach that trying to carry off an overly ambitious plan that includes dozens of elements. Wedding celebrations don’t have to be elaborate.

  • The bride’s dress and the groom’s attire are both part of the big picture of the wedding. The bride and groom should be dressed appropriately for the style and type of wedding, time of day, season of the year and location of the event. I always advise brides to buy their wedding dress after they have determined the basic elements of their wedding. Don’t buy a dress because your mother thinks it’s perfect, or because you feel pressured by salespeople who threaten that if you don’t order that day, you’ll lose the dress. Take your time, do your homework, and you’ll find the dress that’s right for you. Same for the groom. Make sure you are comfortable and happy.
