Each year, the Academy of Country Music Awards manages to outdo itself with spectacular performances, touching tributes to country greats, and hilarious antics from both the presenters and the stars.
While we won't see exactly what the 52nd ACM Awards have in store for us until April 2, there are some things we can expect from the star-studded country event.

We've been treated to many cross-genre duets over the years: when John Mayer joined Brad Paisley for "Beat This Summer," when Rihanna belted out "Bed" with Jennifer Nettles, and when Carrie Underwood was invited to "Walk This Way" with Aerosmith—to name a few!
We've seen Florida Georgia Line perform in a ring of fire, Taylor Swift sing in a downpour, and Toby Keith perform with his fans in the stands—naturally all holding red Solo cups! Fans can count on this year's show delivering another batch of show-stopping performances.
A beautiful ACM Awards tradition, musicians from all genres come together to pay tribute to late artists. For example, the ACM stage hosted rock groups, pop artists, and country stars coming together to pay homage to the late Buck Owens.
New song debuts
The Academy of Country Music Awards has long-served as a platform for country stars to drop brand new tracks, like when Tim McGraw graced the stage to for the first live performance of his hit "Highway Don't Care." Who joined him? The song's featured artists, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban!
In recent years, we've been shocked by the appearances of KISS, the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, and even a bow tie-wearing duck! What surprises are in store this year?
Over the years, the show's hosts have delighted in cracking jokes (remember 2015's Deflategate with Tony Romo?) and unleashing some amazing onstage antics, like when Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton pulled an April Fools' joke on everyone by pretending to be electronic music group Daft Punk.
We can't wait to see what Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley have in store for us this year!
Country music has a flair for the romantic, so naturally, the ACM Awards does as well. We've seen husbands present awards to their wives, surprise couples' duets, and more red carpet kisses than we can even count.
Aside from the typical formal looks (don't worry, there's still plenty of gorgeous women and dapper men), the ACMs red carpet is always packed with studs in country duds, complete with custom boots and embellished jackets.
Who could forget when Faith Hill joined her husband, Tim McGraw, on stage to provide backup vocals to his song, "Meanwhile Back At Mama's"? Both the audience in attendance and fans at home could feel the romance radiating from the stage–and that's just one example in the ACM Awards' rich history.
